Azerbaijan’s flag carrier, Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), has operated its inaugural flight to Kars, its 10th destination in Türkiye. The first service was operated with an Embraer E190 and was welcomed with a ceremony at Kars Harakani Airport.
The event was attended by the Governor of Kars, representatives of various institutions, and officials from DHMI, Çelebi and the airline. The aircraft received a water cannon salute, followed by a traditional cake-cutting ceremony on the apron and local cultural performances inside the terminal.
AZAL will operate two weekly flights to Kars until the end of October. With the addition of Kars, the airline now serves 10 destinations in Türkiye with a total of 72 weekly flights.
